At Havenvest, we typically invest in companies with an enterprise value from US$25 million to US$200 million and will seek to have controlling or influential minority investor positions in the investments made.

Investments are typically made either in the form of expansion capital or by addressing transformation of ownership or succession issues, including management buyouts or pre-IPO investments.

Expansion capital for existing operations:

A considerable number of established businesses in the region are at the threshold of significant regional expansion due to the sustained buoyancy in the energy markets. This situation has driven them to two complementary sources of capital: debt finance and equity capital. Committed, long-term, stable capital provides an attractive proposition to such firms, which are also looking for value-added ownership.

Ownership transformation:

A number of businesses in the region have been grown and developed by individuals who are looking to step back from the ownership and active management of their companies. Havenvest seeks to identify such businesses that have a strong market presence or product portfolio, but where a substantial transformation is required in the internal processes and management platform to ensure they can continue to grow in a structured way.

Investment in pre-IPO companies:

As the stock markets in the region continue to develop, there is increasing interest, from family groups and others, in listing businesses on one or more stock exchanges. Havenvest invests selectively in pre-IPO investment opportunities in suitable companies.
